The 2.3.1 release finally puts FC bug to rest. If you are Android developer you may be interested on how this bug appear and how it was solved.
Back in release 2.1.9 we added ability for Froyo (Android 2.2) users to save HireADroid app to the SD card. One of the steps involved was setting our development environment to be compatible with Froyo. Unfortunately it also meant that in the next release we inadvertently used feature that wasn’t compatible with Android 1.5. After the release some of our users with older phones, running A1.5 started experience the FC attempting to display search results which was cased by java.lang.VerifyError. This was hard to track but fortunately easy to fix. So release 2.3.1 gets rid of this FC for good. It’s been in production since last Sunday and not a single FC was reported.
The 2.3.1 release finally fixes correct titles for “Send To” option which was renamed to “Share By”.
We also added ability to sort search results by date (default) or relevance. This option is available as a menu item from the search results screen
I have 2.2(Nexus One), your ver 2.3.5)), but can’t put on SD card.
